- Q: You said that fishing
starts at 5am on Saturday the 7th of March, can I leave earlier to get to my

than 4 people put in a team for the Champions Cup
- Q: To compete for the Tasman Bay Snapper Classic Cup do all
4 people have to be on the same boat.
- Q: Can Kayaks with engines enter the competition?
- Q: For the team cup event do the 4 snapper have to be 1 from
- Q: If we only catch
3 snapper in a 4 man team can we enter them in for the Champions Cup?
- Q: Who’s eligible to
win the main prize from SIMRAD
A: All snapper entered in the competition are eligible to win the main prize. It’s the heaviest snapper overall that will win 1st prize.
- Q: Can I weigh in
more than one snapper per person?
- Q: Can I win more
than one prize?
- Q: Why can I not see
a junior’s competition this year?
- Q: I know the area
of the competition is inside a line from Separation Point to Greville Harbour
and also south of French Pass but can I launch my boat from Motueka or Okiwi
Bay or do I have to launch from Nelson?
- Q: I know I am not
allowed to use a setline or set net in the competition but is it ok to keep
them on board my boat just not use them?
- Q: Do I have to be
present at prize giving to claim my prize?
- Q: If our team wins
the Champions Cup do we get to keep it.
- Q: Will there be food available at the weigh in
- Q: Can I bring someone else to the weigh-in and can they get
a meal as well and drinks.
A: Extra meals must be ordered when you submit your entry. These will be $25 each (including a drink) otherwise there will be the normal excellent menu available inside the Speights Ale house restaurant with full bar facilities.
- Q: Is there enough parking at the Speight Ale house to bring
my boat into the weigh in and can I leave it there over night?
A: Yes there is a huge amount of parking at The Speights Ale house and yes you can leave it there overnight but at your own risk as there will not be any security patrols provided by the organiser or The Speights Ale House.
- Q: When do entries close for the competition and will accept
A: Entries close at 10pm Thursday 5th March to allow enough time for all payments to show in our bank account. If you have not paid by then you will not be eligible to enter. Late entries will be at the discretion of the organiser.
- Q: If I’m female can I enter my fish into the women’s
class and the open class?
A: You can only enter your fish into one or the other classes, either the open class or the women’s class. You must choose at weigh in what class you wish to be competing in. This is done so it’s fair for the male competitors as well who can only enter 1 class, the open class.
